Starting with 15,000 hopefuls, one television show and an unfulfilled desire, LaShell Griffin, 35-year old wife and mother of 5, never could have imagined what was about to transpire.

'When I was younger, I had a lot of dreams to be a singer. I loved to minister, and I loved the fact that people got blessed by hearing me sing, 'Griffin says. 'But I got pregnant in high school.' So the dream of singing professionally blew away with the wind.

The only places her voice could be heard were at church functions, at home alone in her kitchen, in the car wth her children or in grocery store aisles -- only if no one was looking. And that was fine by her.

All that changed when providence had her at home recuperating from foot surgery. LaShell, watching the Oprah Winfrey Show, saw the show was looking for singers for their Pop Star Challenge. She made a videotape of herself performing 'Amazing Grace' at her church and mailed it off. Eight days later, show producers called her for an interview and the rest is TV history. LaShell Griffin became the winner of the Oprah Winfrey Pop Star Challenge.

And now, because of God's goodness, LaShell is set to release her first recording with Epic Records and INO Records. LaShell's debut FREE is a one-on-one conversation with God. With 11 tracks crafted by some of the world's top producers, this album is a demonstration of God, His faithfulness, and how in due season He gives us the desires of our hearts.
